1960 the first Fill Level Detector using visible light

1966 the first Fill Level Detector utilizing Americium-241

1970 the first Case Inspector for full, sealed cases

1978 a new generation of Empty Bottle Inspectors

1984 the first Chipped Finish Inspection System utilizing camera-based digital image processing technology.  (With over 1,500 installations)

1987 a new line of processor-based Fill Level Devices

1989 the Super Filtec Filler Monitor and Sampling System with Touchscreen control

1990 the first practical real-time Seamer Monitor for the detection of minute defects in the seaming operation

1991 the Omnivision 900, the first true all surface empty bottle inspector, which runs 900 bpm

1993 the Omnivision 1200 all surface empty bottle inspector which runs 1200 bpm

1997 the Omnivision I designed to meet current and future needs of today’s small to medium size bottling facilities with a modular design allowing for future expansion through available technology upgrades.

1997 the Lasetec laser printer for high quality, high speed, on the fly marking of packages.  The Lasetec completes the ‘Inspection Process’ by helping companies to dynamically mark and track their product thereby offering consumers unprecedented quality assurance.

Filtec UK is the UK office of Filtec Europe - which is part of Industrial Dynamics.

Industrial Dynamics is a privately-owned company headquartered in Torrance, California and was established in 1958 by Fred Calhoun. After working in the aerospace industry,  Fred Calhoun envisioned a more efficient manner to inspect bottles and created the world's first electronic Empty Bottle Inspector (EBI) which he sold to  George J. Meyer Company. He used the funds generated by that sale to establish Industrial Dynamics and develop the next generation of EBI which became the industry standard.  Fred went on to pioneer numerous other  technologies to inspect for packaging inspection, quality assurance and liability protection for the soft drink and brewery industry.  See the list  below for the legacy of world renowned products.  Fred is considered by many in the industry to be the father of modern packaging inspection.

We are best known for the development of fill level equipment using gamma technology. This equipment, marketed under the name "filtec", is currently accepted throughout North America and abroad as the industry standard. With over 10,000 inspection system installations in the world today, Industrial Dynamics, with its "filtec" product line, is the undisputed international leader in this field.  However, it was the introduction of the world's first Empty Bottle Inspector (EBI) back in 1958 that brought Industrial  Dynamics its initial recognition. Industrial Dynamics' EBI technology evolved steadily over the years, culminating with the introduction of the industry's first true All Surface Empty Bottle Inspector (ASEBI), the Omnivision  900.

filtecUK, is a subsidiary of Industrial Dynamics Co. Ltd., a privately-owned company headquartered in Torrance, California. For over 40 years, Industrial Dynamics has been dedicated to the development, manufacture, sales and support of high quality, state- of-the-art inspection systems for the Beverage and Packaging Industries. With over 10,000 installations of the filtec product line worldwide, Industrial Dynamics is one of the international leaders in this field.
 Since the mid nineties, an innovative laser coding system is also part of the product line.

 filtecEurope GmbH, Hamburg, originally founded over 20 years ago as a sales and service hub for the European Markets, has considerably expanded its activities since then. For several years now, Vision Systems and other quality control products for different applications and industries are successfully developed and manufactured in Hamburg.
